​​Our research (published in the Journal of the American Medical Association - Internal Medicine) has found: 

* Smokers are more likely to be unemployed & looking for work. 

* Smokers spend more time unemployed.

* Many job-seekers want to quit smoking because of past work problems related to their tobacco use, the financial pinch from smoking, and worries about their health.
